In accordance with Ukrainian legislation, “green” tariff (feed-in tariff) is a special purchase tariff for electrical power produced from alternative resources (hydro energy resources ensure such tariff only for micro-, mini- and small hydroenergy power stations) at electricity generation facilities, even at the commissioned stages of electrical power plants (start-up facilities).

In other words, “green” tariff is a special economic encouraging tool designed to develop energy production from alternative energy resources.

In Ukraine “green” tariff took legal effect since 2009 and will expire on January, 1st, 2030.
